Stop the mass crimes in India!

The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-lennist) condemns the ongoing murderous crusade of the Indian repressive forces, both official and paramilitary, against millions of peasants and Adivasi (tribal people) in central India. The so-called “operation Green Hunt” that was jointly launched by the Central Government in Delhi governments of Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh etc, have turned into a bloodbath with killings, mass arrests, tortures and displacements, moving populations and whole villages is nothing short of a genocide. It aims to eliminate the armed revolutionary movement and to serve the plans of the multinational conglomerates.
Meanwhile with this escalation of the political violence and terrorism against the cadres and the members of the revolutionary movement of the country as well as the harassment and intimidation of every progressive person that attempts to denounce these mass crimes continue to extend the reign of fascist terror across the country. The last and characteristic incident was the extrajudicial cold-blooded murder, of two cadres of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), following their arrest and torture by the Intelligence Service of Andhra Pradesh.
The CPG(m-l) conveys its revolutionary greetings to the militant communists in India and expresses it’s rage to the Indian government for the murder of com. Azad. We call on all revolutionary and democratic forces in Greece to support the struggle of the popular masses in India and to take part in the mobilization organised for today to condemn these crimes and atrocities against the people of India, outside the Indian Embassy in Athens.

SOLIDARITY RALLY FOR THE INDIAN PEOPLE!

JOINT STATEMENT OF LEFT ORGANIZATIONS

PROTEST AGAINST THE SLAUGHTER OF PEASANTS IN INDIA

A repressive, murderous operation has been launched by the Indian state, with the deployment of hundreds of thousands of police and paramilitary forces, with the participation of criminal paramilitary organizations. It aims to break the resistance of poor peasants in vast areas of India. It is about a mass and militant resistance that involves vast areas dwelled by over 100 millions of poor Adivasi (tribal people) peasants.
The main reason for this military raid is to grab the land of the poor people and pass it to the corporations both multinationals and local for the looting exploitation of natural sources in these vast areas. It should be noted that the West Bengal state is under informal “emergency” situation.
Despite the mass murderous raids of the reactionary Indian state the peasants’ movement is growing and resists the murderous assaults.
In order to suppress the solidarity movement that has emerged for the struggle of the peasants, the Indian authorities have launched a fierce repressive and intimidating campaign against intellectuals who support the resistance like – for example – the well-known author Arundhati Roy.
Left and democratic organizations of Greece denounce the criminal raid of the Indian state and support the struggles and the movement of the poor peasants, expressing their unreserved solidarity and call to a protest rally outside the Indian Embassy in Athens.

Assassination of Comrade Azad by Indian state ! (Maoist Communist Party of France)

The 1st of july, Comrade Azad, Polit Bureau member and spoke-person of the CPI (maoist), along with Comrade Hem Pandey, were murdered by the indian state's armed forces.

Police says that it was an "encounter". We know too well that the so-called "encountered" between revolutionary leaders and police always end with the revolutionary leader dying with a bullet in the head or in the back...

We associate ourselves with the Communist Party of India (maoist) and with all the oppressed people of India in memory of Comrade Azad and Comrade Hem Pandey.

Interview with Swami Agnivesh

Social activist Swami Agnivesh had just returned on Friday evening after meeting Union Home Minister P Chidambaram [, to demand a judicial inquiry into the death of top Maoist leader Cherukuri Rajkumar alias Azad in Adilabad district in Andhra Pradesh on July 2.

Chidambaram turned down Agnivesh's demand, saying that such a step could only be taken by the AP government.

Though Swami Agnivesh -- best-known for his struggles to liberate bonded labour --looked calm, his words during an exclusive interview with Rediff.com's Onkar Singh betrayed his feelings.

You had a long meeting with Mr Chidambaram.

It certainly was not a long meeting. The meeting had been arranged with a purpose.

I asked that the central government should order a high-level probe into the killing of Azad as there were different versions about his death.

The government's version is that he was killed in an encounter. But the Maoists say this is not true. They contend that Azad was killed in a fake encounter.

What was Mr Chidambaram's response?

He said there was no question of ordering a probe at the Centre's level. This comes within the jurisdiction of the Andhra Pradesh government, he said.

Are you disappointed?

I would not say that I am disappointed, but I want a high level probe to clear the air about Azad's death.

Unfortunately, the home minister did not think that it would be prudent to order a probe.

You have gone on record that Azad's death was a setback. Did you mention this to Mr Chidambaram?

Yes, I told him about it. I also told him that the circumstances under which Azad was killed are shrouded in mystery. He sympathised with me, but ruled out the probe.

When did you assume the role of a peacemaker between the government and the Maoists?

On May 11, Chidambaram handed over a confidential letter in which he lauded my initiative to negotiate between the government and the Maoists.

In his letter, he said, and I quote him, 'I learned that you led a group of social activists on a peace march from Raipur to Dantewada between May 6-8, 2010. I have also learned that you advocated a cessation of violence for 72 hours by "either side before starting the peace process". I congratulate you and thank you for your efforts,' he said in his letter.

What was the response of the Maoists to the government's proposal?

The Maoists had not rejected the government's proposal outright, but in turn wanted to be sure that the cessation of hostilities should be mutual. This was the response of the Maoists after reading Chidambaram's letter.

In a signed statement, Azad, as the spokesperson of the Communist Party of India-Maoist, said that his organisation desires peace in the interest of the Adivasis, who were being cruelly crushed.

He also asked me to go ahead with my well-meant mission.

Have you ever met Azad in person?

No.

Did the Maoists say that it was possible for them to cease hostilities for 72 hours?

Chidambaram wanted the process to begin within a given time frame. Azad issued the signed statement on May 31, 2010, but it was delivered to me only on June 7. The proposal to which Azad reacted was not my proposal, but that of Chidambaram.

He was killed on July 2, 2010. In their response, the Maoists had asked the government to take some confidence building measures.

What were those measures?

If you can get the copy of the statement, you can read for yourself. That is why I say that there is still a ray of hope.

Chidambaram insisted that before the Maoists come forward for talks, they must abjure violence.

Do you condemn the violence by the Maoists?

I condemn any kind of violence, which is either committed by the government or the Maoists or terrorists. Killing of anyone needs to be condemned.

We cannot differentiate between the violence committed by government forces or the Maoists.

Violence is violence, no matter who executes it. Killing is killing. It means loss of human life, and that has to be condemned by all right thinking people.

The home minister has many times asked civil society to condemn the killings committed by the Maoists. Do you agree with Mr Chidambaram?

Of course, I agree with him on this count. As I have said, a killing is a killing. Loss of human life needs to be condemned.

Of late, some leading political parties, including the government at the Centre, feels the time has come to deal with the Maoists firmly.

Nowhere in the world has the problem of violence by terrorists or groups like Maoists been solved by using the power of the gun. It could not be done in case of Kashmir [. If the problem has to be sorted out, then you have to hold talks.

Will you continue your peace efforts?

I have a mission in life: Co-existence with peace, tranquility and harmony. I have dedicated my whole life to this cause. And there would be no let-up even this time.

I will continue my efforts for peace, till my last breath.

Naxals kill 7 in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand

Seven people were killed in attacks by Naxals in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand even as the 48-hour bandh called by them entered its second day on Thursday.

Security personnel of Railway Protection Force inspect a railway track in Patna after Maoists called a 48-hour bandh on Wednesday.

Two of the eight attacks were reported in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada region. The Naxals attacked Congress leader Avdesh Singh's house in the area around 1 am, leaving four people dead.

Among the dead were two security personnel posted at Singh's house. The Congress leader's son was admitted in hospital with bullet injuries.

The Naxals also blew up the Kaukonda police station in Dantewada on Thursday morning. At least two police officers were killed.

In Jharkhand, the Naxals made their presence felt in Latehar by triggering blasts at a railway station.

The blasts blew up the station bhawan and relay room at Hehegarha station. Two cabinmen were kidnapped but released later.

Police engaged the Naxals in a gunbattle in Hehegarha. At least one policeman was killed in the crossfire.

The Naxals also blew up a portion of the railway track near the Nikitpur railway halt in Dhanbad. Both the up and down lines were blown up, affecting the movement of trains such as the Howrah and Sealdah Rajdhanis

Maoists attack Police station in Orissa's Keonjhar district, abducted cops

Report by Orissadiary bureau; Keonjhar: The Maoists have attacked on Daitari Police station, and Brahmanipal forest beat house under Keonjhar district in the late night of Wednesday and abducted two persons including one police ASI.

As per the information, Around 80 Maoists, including 8 womens armed with automatic weapons, stormed into Daitari town. At that time a cultural function was going on in the Community centre. The Maoists locked the peoples in a room and told that they will free them after finishing their work.

Then proceeded to the Police Station. One ASI and one Constable were present in the Police Station. They beaten the ASI and Constable. Then started firing on the Police Station and set fire and set bomb in the police station and flew away to the Brahmanipal forest beat house.

The ASI Umesh Chandra Marandi and another man has been absconded since Maoist attack , it is suspected that they might have abducted by the Maoists. Then fled away from the spot. In the way, they have blow down a Mobile Tower. A dead body found in front of the Police Station. The Maoists might have killed him.
