SASARAM: The CPI(Maoist) secretary of Sone-Ganga Vindhyachal Zone, Jamuna Ram, on Wednesday demanded a high-level inquiry into the killing of party area commander Kameshwar Chaudhary by UP police allegedly in a fake encounter in the forest of Sonbhadra district two days back.
Ram also demanded the production of four other party members, picked by UP police from Ugahani village under Chenari police station in Rohtas district on November 9, before the judicial magistrate immediately.
The secretary, while calling for a bandh on November 14 in eight districts of Bihar and Jharkhand in protest against the gruesome murder of party leaders by police, threatened to give an indefinite bandh call in the zone.
Meanwhile, PUCL, in a letter to National Humans Right Commission, has demanded an inquiry into the killing of alleged area commander Chaudhary by UP police. The PUCL, after a preliminary inquiry, alleged that five suspected Maoists were picked up by UP police from a village of Rohtas district on November 8 and after interrogation for the whole night, Kamalesh Chaudhary was killed in a fake encounter the next day.
The PUCL, in its letter to National Human Rights Commission, wrote there was no trace of the four persons who were picked up by UP police and there was apprehension of their being killed in fake encounter by UP police.
Meanwhile, Rohtas SP Vikas Vaibhav denied the charge saying the district police had no knowledge of the alleged operation of UP police in the district.
